Stage 2 recovery. June 22, 2017.

Well the pain is more managable today.   I am only taking Tylenol so hopefully my body can get regular now.  I have been taking stool softeners since the surgery but the Hydorcodone makes it not work quite so well.  I am taking it easy today and trying to do some stretching so when I move in my sleep the pain will not wake me up.

Not much else to report but just a few daily pics of my progress.

Swelling is down some and the purple markings are finally gone

Stage 2 recovery. June 21, 2017.

I am still on prescription pain meds.  So different for me.  I am swelling more on my tummy even though I have a compression garment on.  Maybe it is not tight enough.  My breasts are now more bruised and my pubic area is almost black in places.  Gravity makes everything go down.  The pain is better as long as I do not reach up or touch my breast sides or tummy.

I am feeling good that this part of the surgery will turn out wonderful, but time will tell.

I have pictures below.  You can see the bruising all around.

Left breast.  The scars seem to be healing well so there will not be any old wound scaring on this breast.  The bruising is quite large.  Love the fact that the side breast tissue is gone.

Right breast is a bit more swollen than the left but it still is doing good.  Not as much bruising as of today.

Tummy is starting to swell on the left picture side.  It should go down.  Hopefully the next shower will remove all of my purple markings.

Stage 2 recovery. June 20, 2017. 2nd post

Well as for being pain free that disapperaed this afternoon.  OMG.  Lipo will never be something I would ever consider again.  Tylenol will not control so for the first time I will be taking Hydrocodone for longer than a day.  The sites are now starting to swell so that contributes to the pain.  I am wearing a compression bra and long line panties.  Very uncomfortable but necessary.  I have to sleep on my back and just moving sends pain down my sides.  I know all of this is temporary and I will enjoy the results when I am all healed.  Just the pain talking right now

Day after 2nd stage surgery. June 20, 2017. Week 32, Day 232

Well my pain is under control as of this morning.  As long as I do not push on my tummy I am pain free.  I am just taking Tylenol this morning.  Not much to say except I already love the results and there is much bruising.

Picture is below

There is not much swelling as of this morning but it has not been 24 hrs yet.  I made this picture bigger so you could see the right tattooed nipple (picture right).  I think it looks so real.  I keep checking it and I know it is a 3D tattoo.  Just amazed what the tattoo artist can do.

I get to shower on Wed morning which will remove the purple drawings.  The New Girls are quite bruised but they are definitely smaller and more of a round shape.

2nd Stage Surgery Day. June 19, 2017. Week 32 Day 231

Well I am home and in a lot of pain.  Feels like I did 500 pushups and also have a sunburn.  The tissue is burning and the muscle did the pushups.  For the 1st time I have taken 2 pain pills.  Very different for me since Tylenol usually works by itself.  Hopefully tomorrow it will feel better.

Dr Habash drew lines all over where he would lipo and cut.  The new cuts do not hurt at all, but are draining quite a bit.  Back to pads in my bra and wait for them to close.  Glad it is draining though.  He was able to remove the scar from the original wound healing.  Hopefully the new incisions will heal quickly, but if not I am real good at taking care of wounds now.

Off to bed since the pain pill is starting to work.  So happy that I did this surgery

As always the pictures are below.

All marked up and ready for surgery.

At home before changing my dressings. It is a bloody colored discharge.   A lot of clear fluid mixed with some blood

I actually have a waist.  A small indentation at my waist.  That is a first for me.  Tummy is flatter and the large puff of fat is gone. (left side on picture)  My New Girls are smaller on the sides.  They are swollen and draining fluid so the end result will be great.

Getting Ready for Stage 2. June 14, 2017. Week 32. Day 226

It has been a long time since I posted anything.  Not much has been going on except working and trying to loose some weight.  I am down to 167 and have 27 more to go.  I was hoping to be at my goal before Stage 2 but oh well,  food is so delicious.

I went for pre-op testing yesterday and it was surreal sitting there and filling out the paperwork.  It seems like just a few weeks ago that I was getting ready for my DIEP flap surgery and now 7.5 months have passed. It has been a journey that I will always remember and I am so glad for my surgeons, Dr Jennifer Snow and Dr Nabil Habash.  They both are wonderful and have made this journey so much easier than I thought it would be.

My second surgery is Monday the 19th and I am ready.  I will once again post pre op pictures so you can see the before shots.  My breasts look good now but are a little too wide and flat.  Also my left has the scars from the wound and the new girls need a small lift.  My tattoos need some touching up also.  All to be expected.  My tummy needs some lipo to make it more smooth and remove the puffiness above my tummy scar.  My “fupa” will be lipoed to remove the bulge there also.  Seems like a lot of revision but actually it is not.

I am so happy with the results and know that the revision will make me even happier.

Like before there are pictures below so do not go any further if you do not want to see them.

This is the scar under my left breast from my wound healing.  Looks so much better, but Dr Habash is going to remove it when he does the small uplift.

Both breasts are too wide so the sides will get lipo to make them smaller

Right breast is also flat above the nipple and the tattoo needs to be touched up

On my right side (left on picture) you can see the fat tissue that will be removed so the area above the scar will be flat.  The fat around my belly button and on top of it will be lipo suctioned also.

Tattoo’s are healing well. Feb. 25, 2017. Week 17 Day 117

My tattoo’s are healing nicely.  Since there is no feeling I can not tell if they are itching.  Some of the tattoo flaked off the first night so I probably will have to have them touched up but I am so happy with the results.  18 weeks ago I would have never thought that I would be so pleased with the results.  I catch myself looking at them and forgetting that they are not my original breasts.  My new girls are wonderful.

I will have the rest of stage 2 hopefully the middle of June.  Just a little off the side, remove the wound scar and lipo the missplaced fat on my tummy.

I do hope that this blog has helped others who are going through this same procedure or thinking of it.  If you are around the Dallas, Ft Worth area I would highly recommend Dr Jennifer Snow and the wonderful Dr Nabil Habash.  I could not have had a better team.

Well enough gushing about all of this.  The pictures below show several days of the tattoo healing.  Next week I will post the totally healed girls and probably not post again until the middle of June.  Not much changes right now so I will sign off for now.  Thank you everyone who has been keeping up with this blog or just looking at it by chance.

What a great artist he is. Feb. 15, 2017 Week 16 Day 107

OMG is the best I can say.  To me they look so real.  He said that they would lighten up as they heal but if they didn’t I still would be so excited.  I took a picture of my original areola and let him see it for color purposes.  After he matched the color I turned my phone off and he asked if he could use it.  I was so impressed that he wanted to make it look like my old one.  I really just wanted the color to match and I got so much more.  The man is an artist.  His name is Arnoldo Carrillo and comes up here several days a month to do Dr. Habash’s patients.  He has a website that I would like to share with anyone that needs a tattoo.     http://dermagraphic.com/index.html.

My husband wanted to know how he got the nipple to stick out.  It looks that real.  The closer you get you can tell there is no nipple but 4 ft away it looks so real it is hard to believe that it is a tattoo.

Pictures are below.  Before the tattoos, original areola, procedure, and final results
